"Having fresh, nutrient packed veggies, fruits, and herbs delivered to our door every week for months was such a joy. We'll definitely sign up again next year. We found the value of all the produce far exceeded our expectations and the price is very affordable." -A.C. Stauble, West EdmestonWe run a seasonal veggie box delivery program, providing fresh, seasonal, organically-grown fruits and veggies to Edmeston families. Our veggie boxes are priced on a sliding scale so families pay what they can afford. We offer several veggie box sizes, customizable payment plans, and can accept SNAP. We also allow bartering, such as donating wood chips to the farm in exchange for veggies.
"It's very exciting to see the local fruits and berries, and probably the only CSA with sea buckthorn." -Diane, LeonardsvilleThe COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the precariousness of both the food system and the economy. Even in normal times, food insecurity is a pressing issue for Edmeston families, who have to drive 40 minutes to get to the nearest supermarket to pick up groceries. On top of that, due to COVID-related job layoffs, our community members are struggling to pay the bills and make ends meet. This situation underscores the importance of our program to provide local food to local people, delivered directly to their doorstep. Our delivery-based model reduces human contact to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and it saves families time and money, so they don’t have to spend hours to get food, or pay a “driver” to take them to a supermarket.
"Great organic veggies and delivered! Can't beat that." -David Hoyt, EdmestonWe also donate to our local Edmeston food bank, as well as to the regional Farm-to-School program. We believe that an important element of building community is the gifting of goods or resources to those who are in need without the expectation of receiving anything in return.
